New Stuff At Molesworth’s!

Category: HOME PAGE

STEVE-ARTWORK

The season is in full-swing and the house and the sunsets from the deck are all looking great.  We’ve installed an outdoor artwork from US / Wellington-based artist and designer Steve Cicala. The work, based on famous creepy-characters from DC Comics, is laser-printed onto corrogated steel and installed in the back garden.

Indoors there are some new, limited-edition works from Minneapolis-based designer Charles Spencer Anderson and groovy vintage posters from the mid-1960s of Disneyland attractions.

FISHING-AND-CRAY

The Crayfish (aka Rock Lobsters) you see here were caught while out on a 4-hour excursion with Tryphena-based Chaos Charters, skippered by the knowledgeable Barry Kearney. The trip was great fun and highly recommended for fishing or just getting a lovely trip around GBI. For more of our favourite stuff to do on the island (and who to do it with) are on our NEWS + LINKS

Molesworth’s Bach has a new potbelly stove!

Category: HOME PAGE

Everyone who visits Great Barrier Island loves it, but when it is cold and windy and damp, it can be a little harder to love! With that in mind, Molesworth has gone out and bought the place a Morsø 1410 potbelly stove, (the one at the top of the page) which according to the sales literature, with not only create a warm and cosy atmosphere, but you can cook on top of it too!

We secretly think that Molesworth bought this one because of the kooky cast-iron squirrel on the side, but he ain’t telling. Expect to have a warm, cosy stove heating up your stay at Molesworth’s Bach!
